Português: Em nome de Deus, o Clemente, o Misericordioso A sociedade Beneficente Muçulmana do Rio de Janeiro vem por meio desta fazer um demonstrativo da sua demanda atual e solicitar a colaboração dos irmãos para que possamos finalizar o projeto da construção da nossa mesquita e centro Islâmico. Os muçulmanos do Rio de Janeiro realizam todas as suas atividades, desde orações, cursos, casamentos, quebra de jejum coletiva no mês de Ramadan, dentre outras, na sua atual sede com uma área de 40 metros quadrados, que é muito pequena para esta comunidade. A sede está localizada no centro do Rio de Janeiro, local que, após o horário comercial, quando todo o comércio do entorno se fecha, e nos finais de semana, se torna uma área deserta e perigosa, atrapalhando a participação da comunidade em tarefas realizadas a noite e em fins-de-semana. Esse é um grande obstáculo para o desenvolvimento de atividades junto a comunidade. Com o empenho da sua comunidade e da diretoria, e através da doação de diversas pessoas de dentro e de fora do Brasil, conseguimos adquirir um imóvel com cerca de 500 metros quadrados, que virá a suprir, insh’Allah, as necessidades desta comunidade em relação as suas atividades diversas. Este terreno está localizado numa área residencial com grande concentração de muçulmanos, o que irá facilitar a participação da comunidade em suas atividades, além de estimular outros muçulmanos a virem residir junto a mesquita, criando-se um grupamento de muçulmanos próximos uns aos outros. In the name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful The Muslim Beneficent Society of Rio de Janeiro presents, through this document, a demonstrative of its current demand and ask for the collaboration of all brothers, so that we can finish the project of the construction of our mosque and Islamic center. The Muslims of Rio de Janeiro perform all their activities such as prayers, courses, marriages, group fast breaking during Ramadan, among others, in their current site within a 40m² area, which is so small for this community. The site is located in downtown of Rio de Janeiro, an area that becomes desert and very dangerous after the local commerce closes at the end of week days and in weekends, preventing the participation of the community in the activities performed at night and weekend days. This is a huge obstacle for the development of activities alongside with the community. With the effort of our community and direction, and through the donation of many people inside and out of Brazil, we managed to acquire a building with about 500m², which will, insh’Allah, supply for the needs of this community related to its many activities. This new site is located within a residential area with great concentration of Muslims, which will make easier the participation of the community in the activities, besides stimulating other Muslims to come and reside next to the mosque, creating a group of Muslims living next to each other. The project of the construction is divided as described below: 1- First floor – mosque and restrooms (men’s and women’s) 2- Second floor – administrative rooms, three classrooms, library, two restrooms (one for men, one for women), a small restaurant or snack bar, and a residence for the sheikh. 3- Third floor – Events room, industrial kitchen, audio-visual studio, reversible auditorium. 4- Fourth floor – Playground with a small sports court, playground for kids, playroom and gym room. With the money collected until now, inside and outside Brazil, we achieved the following: 1- Acquisition of a two floors building 2- Adequacy of the building to sustain the four floors with all the structural reinforce work, demolition of some areas and the conclusion of the space of the mosque and restrooms. 3 – The construction of the second floor is in progress, where it is already concluded almost all the brickwork and paving. Still some work to finish. We ask for the help of all brothers in order that we can at least conclude the second floor and facades. Thereafter we would be able to inaugurate the new center to perform main acitivities of prayer and teaching. For contributions and further details please don't hesitate to contact us at: Av.
